Privacy

We collect the minimum needed to run a newsletter and gate a handful of white papers.

What we store

  • Your email address, and optionally your name and company, when you subscribe or download a gated paper.
  • If you accept cookies, Google Analytics records anonymous usage: pages viewed, roughly where in the world you are, and which site sent you. We use it only to see which articles are worth writing more of.
  • No advertising pixels and no cross-site tracking. We do not run ads and we do not sell data.

What we do not do

We do not sell, rent or share your details with vendors — including vendors whose products we review.

Cookies

  • wa_locale remembers which version of the site you use (UK, France, Germany or Italy). It is set when you choose a flag, or — if you accept cookies — once you start using a page, and lasts a year. It contains only a language code.
  • wa_consent records your answer to the cookie notice for a year.
  • wa_geo lasts two minutes and only exists to show you the note offering to switch back after we pick a site for you based on your location.
  • _ga and _ga_<id> are set by Google Analytics, but only if you choose Accept and continue. They contain a random identifier and no personal details, and they last up to two years. Choose Essential cookies only and they are never set — the Google script is not even loaded.
  • Signed-in administrators also get a session cookie.

We use your approximate country, as reported by our hosting network, only to choose which language to show on your first visit. We do not store it.

The stack builder keeps your answers in the page only; nothing is sent to us.

Clear this site's cookies in your browser and the notice reappears, so you can choose differently. Choosing Essential cookies only stops analytics loading at all.

Removing your data

Email hello@wifiassistant.com and we will delete your record the same week.
